Easy Chai Tea Recipe
Ingredients
8 cardamom seeds 8 cloves 4 black peppercorns 2 cinnamon sticks 1 1-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced 2 cups whole milk 4 bags black tea (such as Darjeeling) 8 teaspoons sugar or more, to taste
How to Make It
Step 1
Place the cardamom, cloves, and peppercorns in a resealable plastic bag and crush with a heavy skillet.
Step 2
Place the crushed spices in a medium saucepan, along with the cinnamon sticks, ginger, milk, and 2 cups water; bring to a boil. Remove from heat, add the tea bags, cover, and let steep for 10 minutes.
Step 3
Strain into cups. To each cup, add 2 teaspoons sugar or more, to taste.

Warm Mulled Cider
Ingredients
1 navel orange ½ gallon apple cider (not juice) 2 tablespoons honey 5 whole allspice berries 6 whole cloves pinch ground nutmeg 1 1½-inch piece ginger, thinly sliced 8 cinnamon sticks
How to Make It
Step 1
Using a vegetable peeler, peel the zest from the orange to create long strips.
Step 2
In a medium pot, bring the cider, honey, allspice, cloves, nutmeg, ginger, and orange zest to a simmer. Do not boil. Heat, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
Step 3
Ladle into cups and serve warm with the cinnamon sticks.
